The Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, ISAS, hosts an arts festival every year that we can attend! Starting in 1967, that would make ISAS over 50 years old. While last year’s festival was canceled due to hosting issues, this April 9th-11th, ISAS will be in Dallas.
The general setup for ISAS is that private schools from the southwest will travel to one destination to display their art. Over the three festival days, you can enjoy theater productions, musicals, recitals, dance performances, art galleries, or even just enjoy the food trucks. Sometimes schools will have additional activities, like Saint Andrews! In 2024, they started the festival off with their very own concert featuring top-notch student bands and a crazy mosh pit.
Each day, the hosting school will release a schedule on an app called Guidebook. The app informs students of all the activities they can participate in during ISAS. It’s best to sign up for workshops early to avoid them filling up.
As of last year, the festival lasted from around 9 a.m. to around 10 p.m.; however, especially since ISAS is in Dallas this year, Saint Stephen’s schedule may be a little different.
Get excited! No matter if this is your first, second, or third time attending, ISAS is always a blast! Take time to celebrate art and meet some awesome new people!
